Music Monday: The Soundtrack of Your Adventure
If there was ever a single track that defined my family's adventures, it would have to be Tom Petty's "Into the Great Wide Open". I can close my eyes anytime I need a mental break and picture the vast expanse of the central coast of California, humming along to the chorus... "🎶 Under the skies of blue 🎶." The song opens up to a huge soundstage across the top of the Jeep's dashboard, with the guitars and Tom Petty's melodic voice blending together, and my entire family singing along with boundless optimism for the trip ahead.
What's the lead track on the soundtrack to your adventure?

Into the Great Wide Open was the eighth studio album by rock band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, released in July 1991. The first single from the album, "Learning to Fly", became the band's joint longest-running No. 1 single (along with "The Waiting" from 1981's Hard Promises) on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, spending six weeks at the top spot. "Into the Great Wide Open" hit number 4 on Billboard's Album Rock Tracks, but peaked at 92 on the Billboard Hot 100.
